IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s swimming and diving honors, for the week ending Monday, Jan. 11.
 
Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Ioanna Sacha * Sr. * Houston
Sacha enjoyed two strong showings in dual action last week for Houston, helping the Cougars defeat conference foes SMU (162.5-137.5) and Tulane (203-97). She swam top-seven conference times in the 100 (:55.21) and 200 (2:01.00) backstroke to sweep the events against Tulane, adding a win in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.74. Sacha chipped in an event win in the 200 backstroke (2:03.63) against SMU. Sacha is the conference leader in both backstroke events and the 200 IM this season, notching NCAA B-cut times in the 200 backstroke and 200 IM.
 
Women’s Diver of the Week
Hedda Grelz * Fr. * Houston
Grelz enjoyed a standout showing in the Houston dual victory against Tulane, sweeping both diving events for the Cougars. Grelz scored 275.77 points off the 1-meter board to take the win with an NCAA Zone qualifying score. She completed the meet sweep with 303.82 points for a second victory and NCAA Zone mark during the meet.
