FAU, FIU Claim Wins During Saturday League Play

Orlando, Fla. – THE FAU men’s soccer team won their second straight match, defeating UCF 2-1 on Saturday night. The Owls improve to 3-4-2 overall and 2-0-1 in The American. The Knight fall to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in The American.
 
The score was stuck at zeroes at the half, but the Owls were able to capitalize coming out of the break. Victor Claudel connected on a penalty kick in the 50th minute to put FAU on the board.
 
The Knights answered six minutes later with a goal from Lucca Dourado to even the match.
 
Dean Blake scored the game-winning goal for the Owls in the 67th minute.
 
Both teams had their chances at the goal, landing eight shots on goal each.
 
FIU 3, Memphis 2 – Box Score
Miami, Fla. – The FIU men’s soccer used a last-minute goal to capture a win over the Memphis Tigers 3-2 on Saturday night.  
 
FIU scored first after Yushi Nagao scored in the 28th minute. It was the lone goal of the first half for either team.
 
The second half would feature four combined goals, beginning with a goal from Toby McCallum in the 51st minute to even the match at one. Twenty minutes late, Alberto Cruz used a penalty kick to give the Tigers the 2-1 lead.
 
FIU would score two goals in the final seven minutes of the match to secure the win. Joao Domingues scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute, while Bernardo dos Santos won the game with his first goal of the season in the 88th minute.
