Tulsa Falls to Creighton in NCAA Third Round, 2-1

TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa's 14th-ranked and 15th-seeded men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to 17th-ranked Creighton in the NCAA Championship Third Round on Saturday evening at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.  The Golden Hurricane concluded their season with a 10-5-2 overall record, while the Bluejays moved to 12-4-6 on the season.

Alex Meinhard put Tulsa on the board at the 22:14 mark as he punched in a left footed shot into the middle of the goal off a pass from Sergio Baena.  TU held onto that lead at halftime.

Mark O'Neill evened the score in the 54th minute as he headed in a corner kick taken by Giorgio Probo, and then Probo got the game winning goal in the 88th minute as he scored a penalty kick up the middle.

Malik Henry-Scott had a team-best two shots on goal, while Sergio Baena, Alex Meinhard and Takayoshi Wyatt each added one shot on goal.

Alex Lopez logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up five saves.

Creighton had a 12-11 lead in shots, including an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal. Creighton also had a 4-3 edge in corner kicks
