South Florida’s Men’s Team Earns Place In Field For The 2022 NCAA Golf National Finals

IRVING, Texas Five-time American Athletic Conference men’s golf champion South Florida is one of 30 teams that advanced from regional play to the finals of the 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship, to be held May 27-June 1 at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
 
South Florida has now reached the NCAA finals four times in program history, including three times (2015, 2016, 2022) under head coach Steve Bradley. The Bulls finished 17th in 1987 before advancing to the match play quarterfinals in 2015 (sixth place overall) and the third round of stroke play in 2016 (26th place overall).
 
South Florida posted a three-round score of 876 (290-292-294) at the 2022 NCAA Palm Beach Regional on May 16-18 at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to place fourth out of 14 teams and punch its ticket to NCAA nationals. The No. 40 Bulls bested four other Golfstat ranked foes in Palm Beach, including No. 15 Notre Dame, No. 26 Purdue and No. 34 New Mexico, to advance out of the regional by a comfortable 13-shot margin.
 
Sam Nicholson led all South Florida at the par-72, 7,048-yard Champion Course at PGA National, tying for sixth place individually at the NCAA Palm Beach Regional with scores of 68-71-74=213 (-3). Luke Gifford checked in tied for 13th for the Bulls, carding rounds of 72-74-71=217 (+1), followed by Run Youprayong in a share of 30th place (76-73-75=224). American Player of the Year Albin Bergstrom tied for 45th place (80-74-74=228) and Shubham Jaglan was in a group in 48th place (74-76-80=230).
