IRVING, Texas – The preliminary round of the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships is set to begin on May 25 at a pair of campus sites. The NCAA East Regional will be held at the Robert C. Haugh Complex on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. The NCAA West Regional will be contested inside of John McDonnell Field at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The East Regional at Indiana begins on Wednesday at 10 a.m. (ET) with flights in the men’s hammer throw. The East Regional meet will feature student-athletes from UCF (14 individuals plus relays), Cincinnati (15 plus relays), East Carolina (7), Memphis (11), South Florida (12 plus relays), Temple (3) and Tulane (1).
The West Regional at Arkansas opens at 11 a.m. (ET) with the men’s hammer throw. Student-athletes from Houston (21 individuals plus relays), SMU (4), Tulsa (11) and Wichita State (13 plus relays) will compete in the meet.
Qualifiers from the regional prelims will advance to the national portion of the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, on June 8-11.
