BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After going scoreless in the first half, UAB men's soccer (2-0-0) put three goals in the back of the net in the final 45 minutes to cruise to a 3-0 victory over Queens (0-2-0).
The Blazers were not able to break through in the first half despite a handful of quality chances. In the 26th minute, Oskar Wolf of Queens was sent off with his second yellow card of the match, leaving the Royals shorthanded.
Nathaniel St. Louis put the Blazers ahead early in the second half, driving home a penalty from the spot into the bottom right corner to make it 1-0. Moments later, Curtis DeLeon found Brooks Rice who drove home his second goal of the season with his left foot, making it 2-0.
The newest Blazer, Zsombor Kalnokis-Kiss, scored his first collegiate goal in the 85th minute to put the match away.
Memphis 1, Charleston 1 –

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Despite striking first in their final game of the UAB Soccer for the Cure Classic, Memphis came up with a draw against the Cougars.
Just 22 minutes into the match, Gabriel Christensen gave the Tigers the 1-0 lead when he connected with the back of the net off assists from Marcus Larikka and Hayden Anderson.
Memphis would hold the lead through halftime until the Cougars got a goal from Chris Elliott in the 47'.
The Tigers saw multiple chances in the second half to take the lead, but all three shots put on goal were saved by Cougars goalkeeper Olly Marshall.
Lineker Rodrigues dos Santos would have the chance at the end of the match to regain the lead, but his shot sailed just high of the net.
FAU 2, Lynn 2 –

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Despite a late two-goal advantage, the FAU men's soccer team came up with a draw against Lynn on Sunday night by a score of 2-2.
At the 53-minute mark, Victor Claudel gave the Owls the first goal, before following up with a penalty kick just a few minutes later to put FAU up 2-0 (61').
Just thirty seconds later, a red card would put the Owls one man down the rest of the match as Lynn attempted the comeback.
Lynn answered with a goal from Kyle Patton at 76 minutes and evened the match with a goal from Roman Hartleb at 84 minutes.
No. 24 North Carolina 1, South Florida 0 –

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of South Florida men's soccer team took its show on the road for the first time during the 2022 campaign to face No. 24-ranked North Carolina looking for an early season statement win. Unfortunately for the Bulls, they found themselves on the short end of a tough hard-fought 1-0 setback to the Tar Heels in the first of two-straight road contests.
The Tar Heels got on the board by way of a penalty kick in the 12' when Ahmad Al Quaq was taken down in the box. North Carolina's Milo Garvanian stepped to the spot and beat South Florida goalkeeper Jackson Weyman to the bottom right corner for the lone score of the match.
The Bulls had two opportunities within four minutes of each other when Jeffrey "JT" Copper and Jemone Barclay put South Florida's two first-half shots on goal in the 29' and 33', respectively, however, could not convert.
Barclay gave South Florida its best chance of the night at the start of the second half with a blast from 22 yards out in the 52' that was punched over the crossbar at the last second.
Stanford 3, SMU 1 -

STANFORD, Calif. – SMU men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season in a 3-1 final at the Laird Q. Cagan Stadium on Sunday night against Stanford.
Stanford's Carlo Agostinelli scored the first goal of the match in the 16th minute after an SMU turnover led him to a one-on-one shot attempt.
Fletcher Bank extended Stanford's lead after heading one in on the left side of the goal in the 21st minute. Just before the halftime break, Liam Doyle added the third point of the night for the Cardinal, scoring on a penalty kick.
The Mustangs settled in the match during the second half but ultimately fell short.
Knut Ahlander converted a penalty kick in the bottom right of the net to get the Mustangs on the board in the 75th minute.
Tulsa vs Wisconsin – No contest
MADISON, Wis. – Tulsa and Wisconsin battled for 68:43, but the game was halted due to lightening in the area on Sunday afternoon at the McClimon Track and Soccer Complex in Madison, Wis.
The game was not able to be resumed in the three-hour window per NCAA rules and will go into the books as a "no contest". The Golden Hurricane remain at 1-0 on the season, while the Badgers have a 0-1 overall record.
