MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger men's soccer team picked up a clutch win tonight when they shutout the Phoenix of UW-Green Bay with a 1-0 victory.
After today's game, Memphis moves to 2-1-1 for the season.
A defensive battle for both squads, Memphis challenged Green Bay's goalkeeper early with shots from Brandon Brackett, Marcus Larikka and Jovan Prado in the first half. Colin Welsh would make back-to-back saves in the 65' and 67' to keep the Phoenix off the board.
Jovan Prado netted the game-winning goal in the 81' off a penalty kick.
Marist 2, FAU 0 – Box Score
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Florida Atlantic University men's soccer was kept off the board in a 2-0 defeat to Marist on Saturday night.
The Owls and Red Foxes played an evenly matched game from a statistical perspective, but the home side capitalized on scoring chances in the 35th and 89th minutes to stay undefeated.
Marist out chanced the Owls 11-8 with a 5-4 edge in shots on goal. FAU goalkeeper Axel Hofmann made three saves in his second consecutive start. Sebastian Zettl led the Owls with two shots on goal.
FAU now returns home for its first match as a member of the American Athletic Conference. The Owls will take on USF at 7 pm next Friday.
New Hampshire 3, FIU 0 – Box Score
DURHAM, N.H. (Sept. 10, 2022) – The No. 13 ranked FIU Panthers fell on the road on Saturday night to a tough New Hampshire squad by a score of 3-0 at Wildcat Stadium.
The first half saw excellent defense, limiting the chances for both sides as the contest remained scoreless for nearly the entire opening period.
The Wildcats would turn on the pressure in the final minutes of the first half, eventually taking the lead in the 44th minute when UNH scored on a corner kick that sailed just past the out-stretched hands of goalkeeper Kevin Harr. FIU created a chance of their own and nearly equalized right away with 11 seconds left on the clock, when Matteo Gasperoni fired a shot from close range that was stopped by UNH.
In the 73rd minute, UNH extended its lead after being awarded a penalty shot attempt.
FIU turned on the pressure again in the final 10 minutes in search of an equalizer. The Panthers were able to create multiple chances but could not find the back of the net.
In the dying moments, UNH would move their advantage to 3-0 after the Bobcats headed home a cross at the far post to close out the match.

TULSA, Okla. - It was a battle between two top 25 teams in Tulsa on Sunday night as No. 20 Tulsa hosted No. 5 Kentucky. Neither team could gain the advantage by the end as the match ended in a draw.
The Hurrican jumped out to a lead in the first half as Alex Meinhard push a ball through in the 32nd minute to take a 1-0 lead.
It wasn't until the 78th minute that Kentucky would get the equalizer as Luis Grassow would score the late goal to even the match at one.
Kentucky outshot Tulsa 12-5, but Alex Lopez would finish with four saves for the Hurricane.
