CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Another dominant second half and a stellar effort at the back led the Charlotte men's soccer team to a third consecutive, 5-0, victory, this time downing Winthrop on Tuesday night at Transamerica Field.

The win marked Charlotte's (5-0-0) 10th consecutive victory over Winthrop (0-5-0) in a series dating to 1976 and CLT's third straight clean sheet against the Eagles.

The Niners once again saw five different goal scorers pen their names on the score sheet, with freshman Samy Kolby becoming the 11th different 49er to score when he netted his first career goal in the 74th minute to up Charlotte's lead to, 3-0.

Senior Kameron Lacey and junior Matthew Kirk each led the Niners with three points each, scoring a goal and dishing out an assist on the evening. Lacey and Kirk's goals marked their third consecutive matches with a tally each.

Lacey currently leads the team with four goals on the year with classmate Alex Willis who also found the back of the net, Tuesday.

The fifth Niner to score was senior Sean Suber who netted his third PK of the season with less than 10 minutes to play.

The Niners sprinted out of the gates as Koby Carr nipped a loose ball from the Winthrop keeper and played in Lacey who cooly finished the nights opening goal less than a minute in.

The remainder of the opening 45 minutes was largely a sleepy affair with the Eagles stifling the 49ers in the midfield.

Out of the locker room and still holding a, 1-0, advantage the Niners pushed the tempo farther into Winthrop's attacking third.

Eventually the persistence paid, as Kirk picked up an arrant Eagle clearance just outside the 18, played a smooth 1-2 touch with Lacey before slotting it past the keeper to double Charlotte's lead.

15 minutes later, Kolby pounced on another loose clearance, before taking it himself to give CLT a, 3-0, advantage.

Inside the 80th minute Suber netted the PK following a drawn foul from Lasse in the box, before Willis found the back of the net for Charlotte's fifth with just over seven minutes to play.

Temple 3, Saint Peters 1 – Box Score
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.– Temple men's soccer (2-2-2, 0-0-0 AAC) had a dominant showing over Saint Peter's (1-3-1, 0-0-0 MAAC) on Tuesday evening, downing the Peacocks, 3-1. A two-goal performance from freshman Sawyer Koza was enough to hold off the visiting Peacocks and propel the Cherry and White to victory.

The Owls opened the match with intensity, controlling the pace of play right out of the gate. Sean Karani kickstarted an offensive run for the Owls in the ninth minute, sending a ball to Mike Eijgendaal on the right side of the box. Eijgendaal crossed the ball in, finding Koza for for the Owls go-ahead goal.

The Cherry and White continued to push the pace, extending their lead to two just under ten minutes later. Luka Kozomara made a run down the right wing, sending a cross into a streaking Karani for the tap-in.

Saint Peter's looked to answer back, but the Owl defense held strong, ending the half with a two-goal advantage.

The Peacocks persisted, finding a goal of their own in the 57th minute of play, as Teodor Linn found the back of the net to close in on the Owl lead.

Just two minutes later, Koza struck again, sending a rocket from outside the box towards the goal. Saint Peter's keeper Guillem Badenes Mecho leaped for the save, but it wouldn't be enough to make the stop, advancing the Owls lead to two and ending in a 3-1 Temple victory.
