Dallas, Texas – The SMU men’s soccer team used a hat trick to help defeat Temple 4-1 on Friday night. The Mustangs improve to 6-2-1 overall and 2-1 in The American, while the Owls fall to 2-5-2 overall and 0-3 in The American.
 
SMU freshman Fredrik Skilberg put the Mustangs on the board in the 16th minute to make it 1-0. He would do so again, twice in the 25th minute just 20 seconds apart to complete the first half hat trick and give SMU a 3-0 lead. Knut Ahlander assisted on both goals, tying The American record for most career assists (26).
 
In the 58th minute, Knut Ahlander scored on a penalty kick to make it four goals for the Mustangs.
 
The Owls got one back in the 83rd minute from Yan Kouemi to make the score 4-1.
 
Tulsa 0, UAB 0 – Box Score
Birmingham, Ala. – The Tulsa and UAB men’s soccer teams played to a 0-0 draw on Friday night at PNC Field. Tulsa is now 5-1-2 overall and 1-1-1 in The American, while UAB sits a 2-6-1 overall and 0-2-1 in The American.
 
Tulsa outshot the Blazers 23-4 and had 7 shots on goal to UAB’s zero.  The Hurricane also had 10 corner kicks against UAB’s one.
 
Jack Hudson of UAB had a great game in the net, finishing with six saves to earn the clean sheet.
