IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's monthly golf honors for the month of September.
 
Men's Golf Player of the Month
Khavish Varadan, Sr. - UAB
Varadan turned in a pair of top five performances for the Blazers to begin fall tournament action. He finished in second place at the Argent Financial Classic, shooting an 11-under 205.  He followed up with a fourth-place finish at the GMC Invitational, shooting an 8-under 208. He helped lead UAB to a pair of first place team finishes with his outings. For the month, he held a 68.8 stroke average.
 
Women's Golf Player of the Month
Melanie Green, Sr., - South Florida
Green finished with two top five finishes during the month of September for South Florida.  She began the month with a fourth-place finish at the Badger Invitational, shooting a 4-under 212 when competing against programs such as Wisconsin, Rutgers and Indiana. She helped guide the Bulls to a first-place finish at the Badger Invitational. Green followed up with a second-place finish at the Glass City Invitational when competing against Florida, Viriginia and Miami. Green shot a four-under 212 in the tournament.  For the month, Green held a 70.7 stroke average.
