MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- No. 6 seed Memphis defeated LSU, 2-1, to advance to the Second Round of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship Saturday, November 11.

With the win, Memphis (19-1-0) moves on to face No. 3 seed Notre Dame in the Second Round in Fayetteville, Ark.

Mya Jones scored 2:01 into the match off assists from Saorla Miller and Finley Lavin, while Momo Nakao doubled the lead 20 seconds later.

Ava Galligan scored in the 70th minute to cut the lead to 2-1, but that was as close as LSU would get.
