IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving awards.
 
SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Christie Chue, Senior, FIU
Chue recorded four individual victories in a tri-meet against Lynn and the reigning Division II national champions Nova Southeastern. She finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:15.63, the 200 individual medley in 2:04.24, the 100 free in 51.44 and the 100 IM in 57.44. All four times rank in the top three in the conference, while the 200 breaststroke ranks 75^th in the nation.
 
DIVING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Paige Burrell, Graduate Student, FIU
Burrell won both springboard events against FGCU and Indian River on Saturday, taking the 1-meter event with a score of 300.35 and winning the 3-meter event with 308.25 points. Both scores are NCAA Zone Diving qualifying marks.
