IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the weekly women’s soccer honors for the fourth week of the season.
Offensive Player of the Week
Leah Diaz, Fr., F, Tulsa
Diaz helped lead the Golden Hurricane to a pair of wins last week with two goals and an assist. She scored and assisted on another goal in a 4-0 win over UTEP on Thursday before tallying the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win on the road at Central Arkansas on Sunday.
Defensive Player of the Week
Peyton Annen, So., D, SMU
Annen led the Mustang backline to a pair of victories over Baylor and Oklahoma State last week. Annen and the SMU defense only allowed eight shots on goal between the two games, while Annen also contributed the game-winning goal against Oklahoma State on Sunday.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Tatum Sanders, So., Tulsa
Sanders recorded two clean sheets last week for the Golden Hurricane. The sophomore tallied two saves against UTEP before making six stops at Central Arkansas.
Rookie of the Week
Nyah Rose, F, SMU
Rose scored a goal and assisted on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Baylor on Thursday.
Weekly Honor Roll
Kat Burnell, So., F, North Texas
Burnell scored a goal and provided two assists in the Mean Green’s 4-0 win over UTRGV on Sunday.
Momo Nakao, Jr., M, Memphis
Nakao scored the game-winning goal in the 65th minute as the Tigers defeated Kansas State, 1-0, on Thursday.
Samantha Estrada, Gr., GK, SMU
Estrade made three saves in a 2-1 win over Baylor and recorded four saves in a clean sheet against Oklahoma State.
Sabrina Hillyer, Gr., D, UTSA
Hillyer helped lead the Roadrunner defense to a pair of wins and only allowed five shots on goal between the matches against Texas A&M – Commerce and Stephen F. Austin.
Madison Tokarchik, Sr., D, Tulsa
Tokarchik aided the Tulsa defense in only allowing eight shots on goal in two shutout wins, while also adding the game-winning goal and an assist against UTEP.
