IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the weekly women’s soccer honors for the fifth week of the season.
Offensive Player of the Week
Leah Chancey, Gr., M, Rice
Chancey scored the game-winning goal in the 58
th minute of the Owls’ 1-0 victory against Tulsa in the conference opener for both teams on Thursday night, September 12.
Defensive Player of the Week
Georgia Brown, Sr., D, South Florida
Brown led the Bull defense to a pair of clean sheets and only five shots on goal allowed. The Bulls allowed three in a scoreless draw with Charlotte and two in a 2-0 win against Stetson. Brown also tallied the game-winning goal against Stetson.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Maddie Ogden, Gr., North Texas
Ogden recorded two clean sheets with 15 saves over two matches, making six saves in a 1-0 conference win against Florida Atlantic before recording nine saves in a scoreless draw at Abilene Christian.
Freshman of the Week
Caitlen-Star Dolan Boodram, F, East Carolina
Dolan Boodram scored the first Pirate goal in East Carolina’s conference-opening win over Temple on Thursday night.
Honorable Mention
Emma Wakeman, Gr., GK, Charlotte
Wakeman recorded five saves in a scoreless draw with South Florida in the conference opener for both teams on Thursday night.
Faith Hutchins, Gr., GK, Rice
Hutchins made eight saves and a clean sheet in the Owls’ 1-0 win over Tulsa on Thursday.
Lilly Reuscher, Fr., D, Rice
Reuscher led the Owl defense to a shutout in a 1-0 win over Tulsa/
Leire Herraez Gallach, Jr., GK, South Florida
Gallach recorded two clean sheets with five saves over two matches. She made three against Charlotte and two against Stetson.
Anna Sutter, Sr., F, South Florida
Sutter scored the second Bull goal in a 2-0 win over Stetson on Sunday, September 15.
