East Carolina, Memphis, Rice Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the weekly women’s soccer honors for the seventh week of the season.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Sydney Schnell, Gr., F, East Carolina
Schnell tallied three goals last week, including a goal in a 2-2 draw with Charlotte on Thursday before scoring a brace in a 3-0 win over North Texas on Sunday.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Izzy Monck, Jr., D, Memphis
Monck led the Tiger defense to a pair of 1-0 shutout wins over UTSA and South Florida, while limiting opponents to five shots on goal allowed over two matches.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Kaylie Bierman, Sr., Memphis
Bierman recorded a pair of clean sheets this week. She made two saves in a 1-0 win over UTSA on Thursday before saving three shots in a 1-0 victory on the road at South Florida on Sunday.
 
Freshman of the Week
Camille Quarterman, F, Rice
Quarterman provided an assist on all three goals the Owls scored last week. She had two assists in a 2-1 win over UAB on Thursday before adding an assist in the lone goal in a 1-0 win against UTSA on Sunday.
 
Honorable Mention
Anna Hauer, So., F, Memphis
Hauer scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute of a 1-0 win at South Florida on Sunday afternoon.
 
Alex Mackay, Fr., F, Memphis
Mackay scored the game-winning goal for the Tigers in the 79th minute of a 1-0 win over UTSA on Thursday night.
 
Claire Niedermeier, Fr., F, North Texas
Niedermeier notched a hat trick in a 6-0 win over Temple on Thursday, while also adding four shots against East Carolina on Sunday.
 
Leah Chancey, Gr., M, Rice
Chancey scored the first goal in a 2-1 win over UAB on Thursday before scoring the game-winning goal against UTSA on Sunday.
 
Blaine Schutte, Fr., F, Tulsa
Schutte recorded a brace, including the game-winning tally in a 3-2 win on the road at Temple on Sunday.
