East Carolina, Marshall, Rice Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s swimming and diving honors.
 
Swimming Athlete of the Week
Lauren McNamara, Sophomore, Marshall
McNamara picked up an individual win and a second-place finish in a tri-meet with Ohio and Buffalo last weekend. The junior won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:58.35, which ranks first in the American this season and 46th in Division I. She touched second in the 100-yard butterfly in 54.52, which is second in the conference. She also set the fifth- and sixth-fastest times in the conference this season in the 200-yard individual medley (2:05.88) and 400 IM (4:25.79).
 
Freshman Swimming Athlete of the Week
Maddie Emment, Marshall
Emment earned two individual wins and a second-place finish against Ohio and Buffalo, all of which were top-3 times in the conference this season. The freshman captured the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:05.53 (2nd in the American) and the 500 free in 4:56.70 (3rd in the American). She also placed third in the 200 free in 1:50.94, which is good enough for third in the conference.
 
Diving Athlete of the Week
Antonina Harned, Junior, Rice
At the Rice Fall Splash Oct. 24-25 in Houston, Harned swept the springboard diving events. The junior captured the 1-meter event with 315.83 total points and the 3-meter event with 312.15 points. Both scores are NCAA Zone Diving-qualifying marks.
 
Freshman Diving Athlete of the Week
Cecilia Bragantini, East Carolina
Bragantini placed second in both springboard events in a diving meet against NC State and UNCW on Oct. 25. She finished the 1-meter event with 279.65 points, an NCAA Zone score, and finished with 275.60 points in the 3-meter event.
