Memphis, North Texas Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s soccer honors for the eighth week of the 2025 season.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Mic Bernard, Jr., F, North Texas
Bernard scored the game-winning goal in the 79th minute of a 1-0 win over Temple on Thursday, October 2 in the Mean Green’s lone match of the week. The junior’s goal propelled North Texas to its first American Conference win of the season.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Finley Lavin, Jr., D, Memphis
Lavin led the Tiger defense in holding Tulsa to zero shots on goal. The Golden Hurricane offense came into the match ranked in the top 10 in Division I in goals, assists and points. Lavin also scored a penalty in the 40th minute in the 1-0 win for the Tigers on Thursday night.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Alina Arneth, Jr., North Texas
Arneth recorded four saves and a clean sheet in the Mean Green’s 1-0 win over Temple.
 
Freshman of the Week
Lillian Vandiver, D, North Texas
Vandiver provided an assist on the 79th-minute game-winning goal in North Texas’ 1-0 shutout win over Temple.
 
Honorable Mention
Rory Brown, Fr., D, Charlotte
Brown tallied an assist and helped lead the defense in the 49ers’ 3-1 win over UAB on Thursday.
 
Naroa Domenech, Sr., F, Charlotte
Domenech scored the opening goal for the 49ers in a 3-1 win over UAB.
 
Ella Steck, Jr., D, East Carolina
Steck scored the game-tying goal for the Pirates in a 2-2 draw with Florida Atlantic on Thursday.
 
Abi Major, Sr., D, North Texas
Major helped lead the Mean Green defense in only allowing four shots on goal in a 1-0 shutout over Temple.
 
Michelle Polo, Jr., F, UTSA
Polo scored the game-tying goal for the Roadrunners in a 1-1 draw with Rice on Thursday.
