IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 16.
Offensive Player of the Week
Jorda Crook, Jr., OPP, UAB
Crook averaged an impressive 6.19 points per set and 5.25 kills per set in road matches against East Carolina and Charlotte. She scored over 20 points in both matches, including recording 24 kills and scoring 27.5 points in the match against the Pirates.
Defensive Player of the Week
Gaby Mansfield, Sr., L, Rice
Mansfield averaged 6.29 digs per set in a pair of road wins over Wichita State and North Texas. She recorded 20 or more digs in both matches and was perfect on her reception attempts.
Setter of the Week
Brayden Hipp, Sr., S, Tulsa
Hipp averaged 11.71 assists per set in a pair of wins over Temple and Tulane. She recorded a pair of double-doubles, finishing with 47 assists and 12 digs against Temple and 35 assists and 10 digs against Tulane.
Freshman of the Week
Jill Hanson, Fr., MB, Tulsa
Hanson hit an impressive .514 in a pair of wins over Temple and Tulane. She averaged 4.21 points and 3.43 kills per set, while also averaging one block per set.
Honorable Mention
Jessica Ricks, Sr., OPP, Charlotte
Ricks hit .404 and averaged 4.50 kills per set. She also reached 1,000 career kills.
Loredana Fouonji, Jr., MB, North Texas
Fouonji averaged 1.38 blocks per set, including eight blocks in the win over Tulane.
Maria Clara Andrade, Sr., OH, South Florida
Andrade led the Bulls with 5.14 kills per set, hitting .305 on the week.
Mason Gigi, R-Fr., OPP, UTSA
Gigi averaged 5.43 kills per set, while hitting .433 on the week.
Jordan Heatherly, Wichita State
Heatherly averaged 11.29 assists per set in two matches. She had 46 assists in the 3-1 win at Temple.
