IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly football honors from Week 10 of the 2025 season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Owen McCown • R-Jr. • QB • UTSA
McCown led UTSA to a 48-26 victory over Tulane on Thursday night in San Antonio. The redshirt junior was 31-of-33 for 370 yards and four touchdowns. McCown completed his first 16 passes, a school record, on the way to a 93.9 percent completion percentage, tied for the second-highest mark in conference history and a UTSA record. McCown threw a pair of TD passes to David Amador II and one apiece to Will Henderson III and Devin McCuin. His completion percentage is the best by an FBS player this season who has completed at least 20 passes.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Quinton Hammonds • So. • S • North Texas
Hammonds made four tackles and recorded two crucial second-half interceptions as the Mean Green defeated previously undefeated Navy, 31-17, on Saturday afternoon. The sophomore caught an interception at midfield as the Midshipmen were driving in the third quarter down seven and then again in the end zone in the fourth quarter when Navy could have cut the North Texas lead to one score.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dawson Jones • So. • K • Army
Jones kicked the game-winning 27-yard field goal as time expired to lift Army to a 20-17 victory over rival Air Force on Saturday afternoon. The sophomore also converted a 44-yard field goal late in the first half to help send the Black Knights into the locker room with a lead.
 
HONORABLE MENTION
Yannick Smith • So. • WB • East Carolina
Five receptions for 100 yards with two receiving touchdowns in the Pirates’ 45-14 win over Temple on Saturday afternoon.
 
Brendon Lewis • R-Sr. • QB • Memphis
Accounted for 312 yards of offense in the Tigers’ win at Rice. Threw for 225 yards on 18-of-22 passing and also rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown on 12 attempts.
 
Kamari Wilson • R-Jr. • DB • Memphis
Made 11 tackles, including three for loss, forced one fumble and recovered one fumble in Memphis’ 38-14 win over Rice on Friday night.
 
Caleb Hawkins • Fr. • RB • North Texas
Rushed for 197 yards on 33 attempts with four rushing touchdowns in the Mean Green’s win over Navy.
 
David Amador II • R-So. • WR • UTSA
Caught 10 passes for 113 yards with two receiving touchdowns in UTSA’s win over Tulane. Also threw for a 21-yard touchdown on only passing attempt.
