IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer awards for the week ending Sunday, September 21.
Offensive Player of the Week
Pasquale Capriati, Jr., F, FIU
Capriati helped guide the Panthers to a pair of wins, scoring two goals in matches against FGCU and Missouri State. He scored the game-winning goal in the 71
st minute against the Bears.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kerfalla Toure, Florida Atlantic
Toure scored one goal and one assist in the 3-1 win over Temple, while allowing the allows just two shots on goal.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Nigel Van Haveren, FIU
Van Haveren finished with a pair of clean sheets, coming away with four saves in matches against Missouri State and FGCU.
Freshman of the Week
Nicolas Pietrantonio, Fr., D, South Florida
Pietrantonio came away with the game-winning goal against Tulsa.
Honorable Mention
Orthodoxos Orthodoxou, So., F, Charlotte
Orthodoxou scored two goals in the 4-1 win over Central Arkansas.

Traore had a goal and assist to give the Owls their first conference win.
