Rice, South Florida, UTSA Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s soccer honors for the sixth week of the 2025 season.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Leah Chancey, Gr., M, Rice
Chancey tallied the game-winning goal in the 86th minute of a 2-1 victory over Florida Atlantic on Thursday, September 18. She also contributed to all three Owl goals in a 3-1 win over Grambling State on Sunday, September 21, with a goal and two assists.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kameron Kloza, R-Sr., D, UTSA
Kloza helped lead the Roadrunner defense to a 1-0 shutout win over North Texas on Thursday. The Roadrunners allowed only one shot on goal for the match.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Gaby Rourke, R-Fr., South Florida
Rourke made two saves and kept a clean sheet as South Florida took down defending American champion East Carolina, 1-0, on Thursday.
 
Freshman of the Week
Jadyn Jaeger, D, Rice
Jaeger provided an assist on Rice’s first goal in a 2-1 win over Florida Atlantic on Thursday. She also scored a goal in the Owls’ 3-1 victory over Grambling State on Sunday.
 
Honorable Mention
Ava Mills, Jr., D, UAB
Mills scored the Blazers’ lone goal in a 1-1 draw with No. 9 Memphis. The Blazers also only allowed three shots on goal.
 
Gentiana Fetaj, Sr., M, South Florida
Fetaj aided the Bull defense to two shots on goal allowed while also providing an assist on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over East Carolina.
 
Yui Suetsugu, Jr., M, South Florida
Suetsugu scored the game-winning goal in the 10th minute of a 1-0 shutout over East Carolina on Thursday.
 
Jasmine Kessler, Jr., GK, UTSA
Kessler kept a clean sheet for the Roadrunners in a 1-0 win over North Texas on Thursday, making one save.
 
Izzy Lane, Sr., F, UTSA
Lane scored the game-winning goal against North Texas in the 82nd minute on Thursday night.
