East Carolina, Tulane Earn Swimming and Diving Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly women’s swimming and diving honors.
 
Swimming Athlete of the Week
Andrea Zeebe, Junior, Tulane
Zeebe captured wins in the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.18) and 400-yard individual medley (4:20.66) as the UNLV Invite in Las Vegas in December. The junior also placed second in the 100 backstroke in 54.06 and third in the 200 individual medley in 2:02.08. Her lead-off 100 backstroke time on the 400 medley relay of 53.91 ranks fifth in the American this season. Her performances helped lead the Green Wave to a second-place finish out of seven teams.
 
Freshman Swimming Athlete of the Week
Eliza Lennox, Tulane
Lennox won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.81 at the UNLV Invite in Las Vegas in December. She also earned third-place finishes in both the 100 freestyle (49.92) and 100-yard butterfly (54.77). Her performances helped lead the Green Wave to a second-place finish out of seven teams.
 
Diving Athlete of the Week
Frida Zuniga, Senior, East Carolina
Zuniga earned two top-2 finishes in a quad meet with the Pirates, Richmond, ODU and William & Mary in Hampton Va., this past weekend. The senior won the 3-meter diving event with 359.25 total points and placed second on the 1-meter boards with 302.78 points. Both scores are NCAA Zone-qualifying marks.
 
Freshman Diving Athlete of the Week
Cecilia Bragantini, East Carolina
Bragantini posted a pair of top-2 finishes at a quad meet with East Carolina, Richmond, ODU and William & Mary in Hampton, Va. The freshman won the 1-meter event with an NCAA Zone-qualifying score of 304.43 and placed second on the 3-meter boards with 272.93 points.
