North Texas, Rice, South Florida, UTSA Earn Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly indoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, February 9.
 
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Markel Jones, Jr., South Florida
Jones improved his 60-meter hurdles time to 7.68 at the Badgers Windy City Invite, moving up to No. 19 in the NCAA. 
 
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Jemuel Miller, R-Jr., UTSA
Miller recorded a UTSA and Barbados national record in triple jump with a leap of 16.42 meters, the 5th best mark in the NCAA this season.
 
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Barbora Malikova, Jr., Rice
Malikova finished first among collegiate athletes at the Charlie Thomas Invite in the 400-meter with a time of 52.96, the 28th best time in the NCAA this season.
 
Women’s Field Athletes of the Week
Alliyah McNeil, Sr., North Texas
McNeil moved into the top 50 in the NCAA in long jump with a leap of 6.20 meters at the Oklahoma Classic. It is the 45th best jump in the NCAA this season.
