IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly indoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, February 1.
 
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Chase Lehr, Jr., North Texas
At the UW Invite, Lehr ran the 800-meter in 1:47.35.  The time is the fastest in the American this season and ranks 14th in the NCAA.
 
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Sultan Bakare, Jr., Rice
Bakare finished with a Top 50 throw nationally in the weight throw at the Robert Platt Invite with a distance of 20.51m – the 48th best throw in the country this season.
 
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Aariyana Williams, Jr., North Texas
Williams set a pair of program records in the 400-meter and 4x400 meter relay. Her time of 52.79 second in the 400-meter is 18th in the country, while also running the second leg of the 3:41.13 record setting 4x400-meter team.
 
Women’s Field Athletes of the Week
Chin-Loy Raymond, Jr., Charlotte
At the Bob Pollock Invitational, Raymond set a personal best in shot-put with a distance of 15.91 meters.  The throw is the 38th best in the nation this season.
