Memphis, North Texas, South Florida, UTSA Athletes Earn Weekly Track & Field Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly outdoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, March 22.
 
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Jaleel Croal, Sr., South Florida

Croal is tied for the fastest time in the nation in the 100-meter dash following the opening weekend of outdoor track, finishing the race at 10.14 seconds.
 
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Olu Williams, So., North Texas

Williams had a pair of throws enter the top 40 in the NCAA performance lists.  His shot put of 17.23 meters is 38th in the nation, while his discus throw of 58.68 meters is the 5th best throw in the NCAA.
 
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Ann-Marie Braese, Sr., Memphis

Braese completed the 10,000 meter run with the 13th-best time in the nation following opening weekend, completing the race with a time of 37:30.04.
 
Women’s Field Athletes of the Week
Edlin Laur, Jr., UTSA

Laur had a pair of top 10 nationally ranked jumps with her high jump clearance of 1.75 meters being ranked 9th in the NCAA and her long jump distance of 6.27 meters ranking 2nd in the nation.
