IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors.
Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Daniel Phillips, Jr., Tulane
Phillips posted a 4-1 record, including 3-0 in singles. He had wins against New Mexico, Southern, and Rice, rallying to defeat a Top 50 player. Phillips also teamed with Lance Nisbet for a doubles win against New Mexico.
Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Uma Bakaityte, Jr. Rice
Bakaityte went 4-0 in matches last week in wins over Tulsa and Louisiana Tech. Bakaityte posted impressive wins in singles and paired with teammate Darya Schwartzman only dropped one game in a pair of doubles matches.
