IRVING, Texas – Charlotte women and South Florida men headline the 2026 American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Coaches’ Polls, as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
On the women’s side, Charlotte narrowly edged North Texas for the top spot, earning 137 points and five first-place votes. The Mean Green followed closely with 135 points and a poll-best seven first-place votes. Rice claimed the remaining first-place vote and finished third with 117 points.
Tulane (102 points) and UTSA (92) round out the top five, while South Florida and Wichita State tied for sixth with 85 points apiece. East Carolina placed eighth with 82 points, followed by a tie for ninth between Memphis and Tulsa at 54 points each. Temple (28), Florida Atlantic (25) and UAB (18) complete the poll.
In the men’s poll, South Florida was selected as the favorite, collecting 78 points and seven first-place votes. Wichita State placed second with 72 points and two first-place votes, while Charlotte earned one first-place vote and finished third with 69 points.
North Texas (48) and Tulsa (47) round out the top five. Rice (40) placed sixth, followed by Tulane (32) in seventh and UTSA (26) in eighth. Memphis (21) and East Carolina (17) complete the poll.
The 2026 American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship is set to take place May 14-16 at the UNT Track & Field Stadium in Denton, Texas.
