HOUSTON, Texas – The top four seeds all advanced to the semifinals of the American Women’s Tennis Championship, as Wichita State, Charlotte, Rice and Tulsa all won their quarterfinals matchups.

Wichita State 4, UAB 0 (Box Score)
Records: Wichita State (20-3), UAB (11-12)
No. 28 Wichita State swept UAB 4–0 on Friday in the quarterfinals of the American Conference Women’s Tennis Championship, riding dominant singles play and a fast start in doubles at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
The Shockers (20–3) secured the doubles point behind a 6–1 win from Anne Knuettel and Palmy Vimuktananda on Court 3, followed by a 6–4 victory from the nationally ranked duo of No. 34 Giorgia Roselli and Xin Tong Wang on Court 1. The remaining match was left unfinished with UAB leading 5–4.
Wang carried that momentum into singles, rolling past Kristyna Damaskova 6–2, 6–0 to extend the lead. Kris Kudryavtseva followed with a 6–2, 6–1 win over Julia Caffarena at No. 5, putting Wichita State one point from clinching.
Tatyana Nikolenko delivered the deciding point with a 6–4, 6–3 victory over Antonia Ende on Court 6.
The Shockers advance to the semifinals to take on No. 4 Tulsa on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT.
Tulsa 4, South Florida 2 (Box Score)
Records: Tulsa (15-11), South Florida (6-16)
The Golden Hurricane secured the doubles point and followed with three singles wins to advance, improving to 15-11 on the season. South Florida finished its year at 6-16.
Tulsa jumped in front by taking two of three doubles matches. Erin McKenzie and Coral Valle rolled to a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles, and Isabella Basson and Maria Santos followed with a 6-4 victory at No. 1 to secure the opening point.
In singles, Tulsa picked up straight-set wins at Nos. 3 and 5. Carolina Alonso defeated Margherita Marcon 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3, while Valle edged Amelie Drukerova 7-5, 7-6 (5) at No. 5.
South Florida responded with wins at Nos. 4 and 6 to keep the match alive. Josefine Falster beat Alice Baba 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4, and Francesca Miglio topped Erin McKenzie 6-2, 7-6 (3) at No. 6.
Tulsa clinched the match at No. 2 singles, where Basson rallied past Sienna Leeson 1-6, 7-5, 6-1.
With the win, the Golden Hurricane move on to the semifinals where they will play Wichita State at 10 a.m. CT.
Charlotte 4, Tulane 1 (Box Score)
Records: Charlotte (22-3), Tulane (11-12)
No. 30 Charlotte earned a 4-0 victory over Tulane on Friday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center, clinching the match with straight-set singles wins after securing the doubles point.
Charlotte (22-3) took early control by winning the top two doubles matches. Sara Suchankova and Ni Xi defeated Summer Chandler and Campbell Ricci 6-4 at No. 1, while Andrea Chacon and Shona Nakano cruised to a 6-1 win over Natalia Fantini and Leigh Van Zyl at No. 2 to give the 49ers a 1-0 lead.
The 49ers sealed the sweep with singles victories at the bottom of the lineup. Shona Nakano earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Van Zyl at No. 3 singles, Yelyzave Chainykova defeated Micah Pierce 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5, and Prisca Abbas closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Fantini at No. 6.
The 49ers advance to play No. 3 Rice on Saturday in the semifinals at 10 a.m. CT.
Rice 4, North Texas 1 (Box Score)

No. 51 Rice claimed a 4-1 victory over North Texas on Friday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center in the American Conference Women’s Tennis Championship.
The Owls secured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Francesca Maguina and Ema Mravcova edged Marina Adati and Ujin Batsukh 7-5 at No. 2, while Daniela Chica and Divna Ratkovic rolled to a 6-0 victory over Carolina Laydner and Pia Petelinsek at No. 3.
Rice then clinched the match with three singles victories. Maguina defeated Marina Adati 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles, Divna Ratkovic earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Lou Chalard at No. 2, and Mravcova sealed the decision with a 7-6, 6-0 victory against Petelinsek at No. 5.
North Texas picked up its lone point at No. 6 singles, where Giulianna Ciangherot beat Fernanda Martinez 6-2, 6-3.
Rice advances to play No. 2 Charlotte on Saturday in the semifinals at 10 a.m. CT.
