Tulsa Defends Team Title At The 2026 American Women’s Golf Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Tulsa completed the wire-to-wire victory to capture the 2026 American Conference Women’s Golf Championship on Wednesday at Southern Hills Plantation Club. The Golden Hurricane defended the team championship at the tournament and earned a third all-time women’s golf title in the American, in the process becoming the third team to successfully defend a team tournament championship in American women’s golf history.

The Golden Hurricane fell back to the field with a 10-over-par 298 in the final round but still held on for a four-stroke victory with a team total of 2-over-par 866 (284-284-298). Charlotte fired the best round of the day and claimed solo second place with a 54-hole score of 870 (298-285-287, +6).

The average score on the final day of play at Southern Hills Plantation Club was 75.25 over the 55 completed rounds. A total of eight of the 55 players in round three finished at par or better, including only four under par rounds for the lowest totals in each category of any round during the tournament.

Guiding Tulsa to the team tournament defense was Samantha Olson, who closed with a final round 74 to earn outright second place in the individual standings at 2-under-par 214 (69-71-74). Defending tournament individual medalist Romaine Masserey continued her steady play at Southern Hills Plantation Club in outright third place following rounds of 70-72-73 to finish at 1-under 215. Allyn Stephens also climbed into the top 10 thanks to rounds of 76-70-74 to tie for seventh place at 4-over-par 220 representing Tulsa.

Charlotte’s Pinky Chaisilprungruang earned her fourth individual tournament victory of the season and first American championship following a second straight 5-under-par 67, with six birdies against just one bogey, to post an 11-under-par 205 (71-67-67) for the week on her way to a nine-shot win. Chaisilprungruang led the field with 14 birdies during the week, adding a 3.83 (-5) scoring average on par-4 holes and 4.42 (-7) scoring average on par-5 holes at Southern Hills Plantation Club.

UTSA claimed solo third place in the team standings at 17-over-par 881 following rounds of 288-301-292. Both Florida Atlantic (296-297-299) and East Carolina (293-301-298) shared fourth place after finishing at 28-over 892.
