South Florida, UTSA, Tulsa Athletes Earn Weekly Track & Field Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly outdoor track & field awards for the week ending Sunday, April 5.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Kelsey Singleton, Sr., South Florida
Singleton placed third in the Pepsi Florida Relays 400-meter dash, running the fastest time in the conference in the distance this season at 45.43. Singleton’s time ranked eighth in NCAA Division I as of April 7.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Jemuel Miller, Sr., UTSA
Miller finished third in the section A triple jump flight at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with a fourth-round jump of 15.71m (51-6.5). Miller owned the top jump in the American and ranked 11th in the nation as of April 7.

Women’s Track Athlete of the Week
Sara Morefield, So., Tulsa
Morefield won the 3,000-meter steeplechase event at the Stanford Invitational with a time of 10:00.34.  Morefield’s time was the best in the American and ranked sixth in NCAA DI as of April 7.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Daisy Monie, Grad, UTSA
Monie swept both the shot put and discus events at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, posting the top shot put throw in the conference this season on her fifth attempt with an effort of 15.94m (52-3.75). Monie’s throw ranked 31st in the country as of April 7.
