Rice, South Florida, Temple, Tulane Earn Weekly Volleyball Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the weekly volleyball honors for the second week of the 2026 season.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Sydnee Peterson, So., OH, Rice
Peterson hit .264 for Rice in a 2-1 week, capping the three matches with 45 total points (4.50 points per set) and 4.10 kills per set. Peterson finished with 17 kills on .233 hitting in a four-set win over Tarleton State and added 17 kills while swinging .417 in a sweep of McNeese State.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Amelia Wass de Czege, Jr., MB, South Florida
Wass de Czege averaged 1.71 blocks per set over seven sets last week, finishing with 12 total blocks. Wass de Czege had six total blocks against No. 4 Stanford and added six total blocks (one solo) versus Marquette.

Setter of the Week
Charlee Solomon, So., Tulane
Solomon averaged 10.45 assists per set and 2.91 digs per set during a 3-0 Tulane week. Solomon logged 37 assists and nine digs in a sweep of Duke and threw down a double-double with 45 assists and 14 digs in a five-set victory over FIU.
 
Freshman of the Week
Kennedy Crayton, OH, Temple
Crayton hit a combined .275 with 36 kills, 3.60 kills per set and 2.70 digs per set. Crayton hit .364 with 14 kills in a sweep of ULM and added a 12-kill, 16-dig double-double against Grand Canyon.
 
Honorable Mention
Addyson Smock, So., MB, UAB
Smock averaged 1.25 blocks per set over three matches, highlighted by eight total blocks (four solo) versus St. John’s.
 
Ellie Pate, Sr., OH, East Carolina
Pate hit .268 with 3.93 kills per set and 4.21 points per frame for East Carolina, highlighted by 25 kills while swinging .290 in a five-set setback against UNCG.
 
Abigail Schlueter, Sr., L/DS, Memphis
Schlueter averaged 3.56 digs per set in a 1-1 Memphis week, including 20 digs in a five-set triumph over Louisiana.
 
Lauryn Mack, So., OH, Tulane
Mack finished with a .276 hitting percentage, 3.27 kills per set and 3.86 points per set in an undefeated Tulane week, posting a double-double with 14 kills and 15 digs in five sets against FIU.
 
Brittany Bacorn, Jr., S, Tulsa
Bacorn averaged 7.83 assists per set to go along with 3.42 digs per set for 3-0 Tulsa, featuring double-doubles against Pepperdine (36 assists, 13 digs), Arizona (29 assists, 18 digs) and No. 10 Creighton (29 assists, 10 digs).
