PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly cross country honors for the combined weeks ending Sunday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 22.
 
Male Athlete of the Week
Aaron Bienenfeld * Sr. * Cincinnati
Bienenfeld earned his first career win at Cincinnati by claiming the men’s 8K title at the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee, on Sept. 21. Bienenfeld logged a winning time of 24:10.1 to outpace the field by 11.4 seconds, defeating foes from fellow American Athletic Conference members Tulsa and Memphis in the victory.
 
Female Athlete of the Week
Caitlin Klopfer * Jr. * Tulsa
Klopfer ensured a sweep for The American in both races of the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis on Sept. 21, taking home the title in the women’s 6K at the Shelby Farms Course. Klopfer picked up her first career individual win with a time of 21:36.3 to help guide the Golden Hurricane to a first-place team finish.
