IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly cross country awards for the week ending Sunday, October 20.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Yared Kidane, R-Jr., Wichita State
Kidane earned a top five finish at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday in Peoria, Illinois, completing the 5,000-meter run with a time of 23:58.0. His finish helped vault the Shockers to a fifth place team finish.
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Caroline Jeptanui, Fr., Tulane
Jeptanui was a podium finish at the highly competitive Wisconsin Pre-Nationals, earning a third place finish with a time of 19.17.2 in the 6,000-meter race. All six top finishers broke the previous course record, which was set a year ago by the NCAA Champion, Parker Valby.
