USF Softball 02.17.17 USF Falls to Wisconsin, 3-1 Follow @American_SBall USF right-hander Kalen “JoJo” McGill took a gem into the eighth inning of No. 20 USF’s 3-1 loss to undefeated Wisconsin on Thursday night. McGill (0-2) struck out eight batters before Wisconsin (5-0) put together a three-run eighth inning in the first game of the Michele Smith Pediatric Cancer Foundation Tournament. McGill, a junior transfer from College of Central Florida, scattered six hits while becoming the first USF pitcher to throw a complete game this season. Junior Lauren Evans (Land O’Lakes, Fla.) raised her batting average to .308 with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Evans hit a two-out single in the eighth to keep the Bulls’ rally alive after AnaMarie Bruni scored from second on an error to open the inning. With the loss, the Bulls fell to 3-3 overall, while Wisconsin improved to 6-0.
