Friday, Feb. 24 Results
Tulsa drove in runs early in both matchups on day one of the Cardinal Classic, plating eight in the opening frame against Alabama A&M in an 11-1 win before scoring two in the first in a 5-2 win over McNeese State. Junior pitcher Emily Watson tossed 6.0 innings of one-hit softball in game two while striking out a season-high 10 batters.
East Carolina put up five runs in the first inning Friday evening on its way to a 10-1 five-inning victory over Virginia to begin the Pirate Invitational at the ECU Softball Stadium.
UCF freshman third baseman Tamesha Glover connected on a two-run homer in the third inning to spark the Knights offense to a 5-0 victory over Gardner-Webb on Friday afternoon.
