Freshman Kiwi McDaniel provided the offense and sophomore pitcher Jill Stockley held down the pitching circle, as the UConn softball team snapped a four-game losing skid on Tuesday with a 3-2 win over Boston College.

In the first true home game of the season for the Huskies (14-19, 1-4 American) at the Burrill Family Field, Stockley (5-8) turned in a complete-game win – striking out five and walking just one over seven innings.

Senior RHP Lydia Ritchie produced her fourth complete-game shutout of the season Tuesday evening as East Carolina rolled past N.C. Central 4-0 in a non-conference softball contest at the ECU Softball Stadium.

East Carolina hit two more home runs in the contest as the Pirates have racked up an American Athletic Conference-best 52 long balls this season – six away from matching the program single-season record and two from tying the league's single-season standard.

The Pirates welcome UConn to Greenville later this week for a three-game American Athletic COnference series. The teams will play a Thursday- Saturday set.
