Houston picked up a 6-4 win over East Carolina to clinch the series, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at Cougar Softball Stadium.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 22-20 overall and 7-4 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Pirates fall to 25-25 overall and 5-9 in league action.
Cheyenne Eggens had a phenomenal outing in the circle, leading USF to a 6-0 win over Memphis to clinch the series. The Bulls are now 28-21, 7-6 on the year, while Memphis fell to 23-22, 4-7.
After a leadoff single to start the game, Eggens retired the next 17 batters she faced, before a two-out error in the sixth inning. The sophomore allowed just two hits in 5.2 innings, facing just three batters over the minimum.
Tulsa defeated UConn in game two of their three-game series, 6-0. The win marks the sixth straight league win and seventh straight victory for the Hurricane (32-13 overall, 10-1 The American)
Tulsa's first of their three home runs against UConn (15-25, 1-9 The American) came by way of Shannon Hughes in the second inning, a solo shot that opened up the scoring and gave Tulsa a 1-0 advantage. Hughes finished the afternoon with a two of three showing at the plate with two runs scored.
