UCF captured its first American Athletic Conference series of the season with a 3-0 victory on Sunday at East Carolina. Freshman Alea White notched her first-career shutout, holding the Pirates to three hits at the ECU Softball Stadium.

The Knights continue their seven-game road trip on Wednesday at Florida Atlantic. The first pitch from Boca Raton, Fla., is set for 6 p.m. and UCF returns home on April 13 for a nationally televised contest against South Florida at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.

When UConn softball needed a big performance, freshman pitcher Katie Koshes  turned in a trademark performance with a season-high 13 strikeouts in a win over USF at the ECSU Softball Field on Sunday.

The Huskies host UMass-Lowell on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and Hofstra on Wednesday in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. All games will be played at the Burrill Family Field in Storrs.


The Bulls are now 21-19, 1-4 American, while UConn is 12-15, 1-1 American.The offense was hot in game one as the Bulls recorded nine runs on 12 hits. JoJo McGill held the Husky offense to just one hit in the complete-game shutout.

Kalen McGill picked up the win, throwing a six-inning complete game one-hitter. McGill retired the last 13 batters she faced, hurling four 1-2-3 innings to end the game.
