UCF and Tulsa close out the weekend with wins

UCF sophomore catcher Cassady Brewer sent the Knights' four seniors – Brittany Solis, Linnea Goodman, Willow Kalinen and Manami Calixto – off in style with a walk-off grand slam to cap a 9-0 six-inning victory over UConn. Brewer blasted a pair of homers and drove in a career-best six runs in the final home game of the season at the UCF Softball Complex.

UCF travels to Bethune-Cookman for a Wednesday meeting in Daytona Beach, Fla. The first pitch of a doubleheader is set for 2 p.m.

Tulsa claimed their first American Athletic Conference regular season title and first since the 2014 season as they capped off the series sweep of East Carolina with a 2-0 shutout win on Sunday afternoon. The Hurricane (36-13 Overall, 14-1 The American) won their 10th consecutive game to secure the outright regular season crown and top-seed in the upcoming conference tournament with their fourth sweep of a league opponent.

The regular season title marks the sixth in program history and sixth under 12th-year Head Coach John Bargfeldt, who owns a 459-221-1 overall record and a 35-16 mark in The American since joining the league in 2015.
