Softball Heads into Week Nine

The 2017 softball season will head into its ninth week with all seven American teams in action. 

Conference play will continue this weekend wtih  East Carolina traveling to USF, UCF at Memphis, and UConn at Houston.

UCF returns home on April 13 for a nationally televised contest against USF at 6 p.m. on ESPNU.

The weather continues to pose difficulties for the UConn softball schedule, as the team’s home game against UMass-Lowell on Tuesday has been postponed due to rain and wet field conditions. No makeup date is scheduled.

Memphis came away with a doubleheader sweep over UT Martin Tuesday afternoon. The Tigers took the early lead in game one and held on for a 5-4 victory before rallying late in game two, winning by a 6-2 margin. Memphis improves to 22-16 on the year after the sweep.
