Highlights
 
- Wichita StateRV took down Creighton8  in four sets to highlight The American competition in its home opener on Friday night. Tabitha Brown led with 17 kills, Emily Hiebert had 42 assists, and Giorgia Civita led the back row with 29 digs in the win. The Shockers (8-2) captured their second ever win over a top-10 nationally ranked opponent. The last time the Shockers defeated a top-10 ranked opponent was in 2008, when Wichita State downed Cal Poly10 in five sets. The last time the Shockers earned a win over any ranked opponent was when they defeated Creighton18 last season.  

- UCF improved to 6-5 after posting a sweep victory over Virginia in the Knights’ home opener. UCF powered to a .360 hitting percentage in the win, as Kia Bright fueled the offense and led in digs, notching her sixth double-double of the year with 16 digs, 11 kills, and a .439 hitting percentage. Ali Sabol and Kristina Fisher chipped in with nine kills each. The Knights host Virginia again tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET.
 
- Tulane (9-2) picked up its fourth straight win, defeating Northwestern State in five sets at home. The Green Wave remain at the top of the conference standings and undefeated at home with a 6-0 record in New Orleans. Five players reached double-digit kills, as Jenna Ibieta (22 assists, 10 digs) and Hannah Shaw (11 kills, 12 digs) each had double-doubles.
 
- The Tigers went 2-0 on the day after securing a pair of sweeps. Memphis (6-5) started its home slate off the way it wanted with a 3-0 win over ULM on Friday morning. Kelsea Bivins led the way with a double-double of 12 kills and 10 digs in the win. The Tigers then took down Nicholls, 3-0, with Bivins recording her second double-double of the day. Five of Memphis’ six wins have been three-set victories.
 
- Tulsa won its second in a row after going the distance with Oral Roberts for a five-set win. The Golden Hurricane (6-4) was led by Emily Thorson who had 18 kills. Callie Cook hit .667 with 12 kills and no errors, while Rachel Moore hit a .360 with 12 kills as well. Emily Hubbard (13 kills, 11 digs) and Lindsey Ledyard (29 assists, 11 digs) each had double-doubles.
 
- The Bearcats (2-9) bounced back after suffering their sixth straight loss in three sets against N.C. State. Cincinnati snapped its losing streak with a 3-0 win over Milwaukee. Carly Nolan had 19 kills with a .311 hitting percentage and added eight digs to steer her side to victory. Jasmine Jones guided the team with six blocks at the net, as Cincinnati finished the match with nine total stuffs.
 
- UConn (6-5) fought through three close sets to capture its sixth win of the season and temporarily improved to 6-4 overall with a sweep victory over UMKC to start off the weekend. Kayla Williams posted her fifth double-double this year with 15 kills and 10 digs to lead the way. But the Huskies finished the day split at 1-1 with a three-set loss to the tournament host Bradley.
 
- USF (2-5) fell in a close four-set match to Austin Peay upon returning to the court this weekend. Two sets were decided in two or less points, as Alex Mendoza had a double-double with 29 assists and 10 digs.
 
- SMU’s three-game winning streak ended in a four-set loss to TCU. Three Mustangs registered double-digit kills, while Lauren Mills earned her sixth double-double this year with 13 kills and 12 digs. Lexi Nordmann hit a .458 with 13 kills. SMU is now 6-4 overall this year.
 
- Temple’s brief winning streak came to an end with a four-set loss to Villanova on the road. Irem Asci had 19 kills with eight digs, while Iva Deak recorded five blocks and 10 kills with a .318 hitting percentage. The Owls are even at 4-4 overall this season.
