Entering the 2019 American softball season we're taking a look at each team around the league. The UConn Huskies return 16 upperclassmen this year and begin the season with five games in the opening weekend, starting February 8.

-UConn returns its top four hitters from a year ago, including 1B/OF Olivia Sappington, who led the Huskies in home runs and total bases in 2018.

-In the circle, Jill Stockley returns for her senior season after tossing 15 complete games in 2018 with a 2.40 ERA and 111 strikeouts.

-Infielder Briana Marcelino led UConn with a .276 batting average last season on the way to being named to The American’s All-Rookie team.
