Three Earn Women's Soccer All-America Honors

12.08.19

Three American women's soccer players were named All-Americans by United Soccer Coaches. Memphis' Stasia Mallin was named to the first team, while her Tiger teammate Clarissa Larisey and USF's Evelyne Viens were honored on the second team. It is the third consecutive year Viens has been an All-American.

Mallin became the Tigers' first All-American voted to the first-team list since Simonin in 2011. The MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist capped her senior year with career highs in goals (3) and assists (14), while her 14 assists rank fourth nationally.

In her senior year, the Carmel, Ind., native captured the American Athletic Conference's career assists record with 29, which also rank third in program history. The First Team All-Conference honoree also helped Memphis to 12 shutouts throughout 2019. Mallin is one of six student-athletes nationally to garner All-America status both athletically and academically this year, and is the lone First Team recipient on both lists.

Larisey, who was named First Team All-Region in 2018 and 2019, became the third non-senior to earn United Soccer Coaches All-America distinction in program history and first since Oduro in 2011. The junior capped 2019 as the American Athletic Conference's co-Offensive Player of the Year.

Larisey led the Tiger offense with 16 goals, which ranks tied for the most in a Memphis single season since 2013. The Ottawa, Ontario native posted two hat tricks throughout her junior campaign and climbed to sixth in the program record book with 31 career goals.

Earning All-America honors for the third time in her career, Viens was USF women's soccer's first All-American after her sophomore year, when she earned third-team honors from United Soccer Coaches. She repeated the feat last season with third-team honors. Viens is one of six on this year's list that have earned the honor three times in their career.

The senior from L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, finished her historic career with a bang, helping the team reach its best finish in the NCAA tournament in the third round with a new program-high 16 wins.

Viens finished her career with 73 goals, 169 points and 360 shots, setting new program and conference records in all three categories. She also holds the conference all-time record in points per game (2.19), goals per game (0.95) and shots per game (4.68).

In her senior season, she tallied 25 goals, again breaking the program and conference single-season record. In the program record book, she now holds the first, second and third-place spot on the single-season goals list.
