PROVIDENCE, R.I.--Five American Athletic Conference women's soccer players earned Scholar All-America honors from United Soccer Coaches. Memphis' Stasia Mallin and Clarissa Larisey and USF's Evelyne Viens were named to the first team, USF's Andrea Hauksdottir was recognized on the second team and Memphis' Elizabeth Moberg was a third-team honoree.
Mallin, a now three-time academic All-American, was also recognized for her talent on the pitch and garnered United Soccer Coaches First Team All-America honors earlier this month. After garnering CoSIDA Academic All-America honors on Dec. 5, the senior captain became one of six student-athletes nationally to earn All-America status both athletically and academically. She is also the only student-athlete in the country to be named to the first team on all three lists: CoSIDA Academic All-America, United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America and the United Soccer Coaches All-America team.
Larisey, who was named a Second Team All-America honoree for a standout season on the field, added her first Scholar All-America recognition on Wednesday. A fellow Tiger 3.0 Club and Dean's List member, Larisey is a two-time AAC All-Academic Team honoree.
Viens earned her second All-America honor of the season with the first-team honor. A United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-American this season, Viens now has four titles over her career. With 73 goals, 169 points and 360 shots in her career, Viens set new program and conference records in all three categories. The Canadian also sent new conference career records with 2.19 points per game, 0.95 goals per game and 4.68 shots per game.
Viens tallied 25 goals in her senior season, setting a new program and conference single-season high. In the program record book, she now holds the first, second and third-place spot on the single-season goals list. Her 53 points on the season also sets a new program record. She also holds the program single-season records for shots (113) and game-winning goals (10). On the conference level, she broke the season records for points per game (2.65) and goals per game (1.25).
Hauksdottir finished her career with USF with a stellar 2019. The senior was named The American Midfielder of the Year for the second straight season and was also selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First Team. A 2019 MAC Hermann Watch List designee, Hauksdottir finished the year with four goals and nine assists for 17 points, tied for second on the team.
After graduating earlier this week, Moberg also claimed her first Scholar All-America honor of her career on Wednesday. A two-time AAC All-Academic team member, Moberg capped the fall semester earning her degree in integrative studies and will begin her graduate program in the spring.
