OKLAHOMA CITY – American Pitcher of the Year Georgina Corrick was named to the NFCA Second Team All-America on Wednesday evening. The USF sophomore was one of 54 student-athletes from 29 different institutions that were selected to one of three 2019 NFCA Division I All-America teams.
Corrick becomes the sixth player NFCA All-America honors from The American, giving the league an honoree in each season of its existence.
Corrick finished her sophomore campaign with 25 wins, 260 strikeouts, 11 shutouts, a 1.14 ERA and held opponents to a .167 batting average. She has the eighth-most strikeouts in USF history with 424 and ranks sixth in a single season after reaching 260 this year. She delivered 25 wins, good for seventh in a single season at USF, and sits seventh all-time for shutouts with 14. Corrick's 11 shutouts this season rank eighth in the nation.
The American Pitcher of the Year for the second straight season, Corrick recorded a single-game high 16 strikeouts against Tulsa earlier this spring, one of 10 double-digit strikeout performances in 2019. She finished with 21 complete games, going to extra-innings five times, and 10-plus innings twice.
Corrick was an All-Conference First Team selection in The American for the second-straight season this year. She was also named a USA Softball Player of the Year Top 25 Finalist and received NFCA All-Region First Team honors.
