USF 2, Saint Leo 0
USF challenged Saint Leo all night and was rewarded with a 2-0 win in its first road game of the season. The Bulls pressured immediately after the opening kick and never relented. Aubrey Megrath got the scoring going in the 17th minute, while the USF defense held strong throughout the match and did not allow Saint Leo to get a shot off until the 49th minute.

Andrea Hauksdottir added an insurance goal in the 86th minute when she dribbled through the Saint Leo defense and fired a shot past the Lion's goalkeeper to seal the 2-0 victory.

UConn 1, Central Connecticut State 1
Jackie Harnett scored her first career goal with 8:05 remaining in regulation to help the Huskies earn a 1-1 draw at Central Connecticut State University on Thursday evening. Less than three minutes after the Blue Devils took the first lead of the night, Harnett crossed over a Blue Devils defender and powered home a shot above a leaping keeper to even the scoreline in the 79th minute.

Randi Palacios continues to impress in goal for the Huskies, making six saves on the evening to keep the game tied. Jessica Mazo (four shots) and Duda Santin (three shots) totaled seven of the Huskies 12 shots.

Temple 3, UMBC 1
Temple displayed a full team effort on the road against UMBC on Thursday night, defeating the Retrievers 3-1 to earn its first win of the season. The Owls put three goals on the board, with Morgan Morocco, Emma Wilkins and Bella Sorrentino finding the back of the net.

Morgan Basileo notched six saves, stepping up and making several huge plays to keep the Owls out in front of the Retrievers. In the first half of action, Temple recorded six shots, five of which were on frame. The team finished the match with 10 shots, eight on goal. Six different Owls had looks on goal.

Kansas 2, Memphis 1
A Kansas goal with just over a minute to go gave the No. 18 Jayhawks a 2-1 victory against No. 20/18 Memphis Thursday night at Rock Chalk Park. The setback negated a terrific night in net by Tiger goalkeeper Rachel Ashworth Shepard, who tallied five saves and provided a strong presence off the line. Offensively, the Tigers outshot the Jayhawks by an 11-10 margin.

The Tigers broke through in the ninth minute of the match when Stasia Mallin connected on her first score of the season. Lining up for a corner kick, Mallin's strike tucked inside the right side of the goal for the early advantage. The home side drew even in the 52nd minute after a Memphis handball was called inside the box off a Jayhawk corner. Kansas' Ceri Holland converted the penalty kick to level the contest at 1-1.

SMU 9, Texas Southern 0
Seven different Mustangs tallied nine total goals in No. 25 SMU's 9-0 win over Texas Southern in the home opener on Thursday. The nine goals scored tied for the fifth-most in team history with juniors Jewel Boland and Katia Novi leading the way with two each.

The Mustangs took an early lead with three goals in the first 20 minutes of the match before coming out hot in the second half, scoring six more goals on the Tigers. SMU outshot Texas Southern 31-2, with 14 Mustang shots and both Tiger shots being on goal. The assist column was also heavy for SMU, with 10 assists split between nine athletes. The match was the Mustangs' first game with nine goals since their 9-0 win over Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on Aug. 28, 2016.

Missouri 2, Cincinnati 1
Han Tang collected her first collegiate goal to put Cincinnati ahead, but the Bearcats were unable to hold on as the host Missouri Tigers netted a pair of goals late in the match to take a 2-1 win in Columbia, Mo., Thursday night.

Ying Zhan assisted on the goal to earn her first career assist and first career point as a collegiate player. Karli Royer earned the start tonight, seeing her first action since the end of 2017 season after sitting 2018 with an injury. She logged 54 minutes in her first action since November 1, 2017, when she logged 64 minutes in the first round of the AAC Tournament against SMU.
