IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its men’s and women’s tennis honors for the month of September.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Liam Krall • So. • SMU • Bronxville, N.Y.
Krall, the 2021 American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, began his sophomore season by capturing the singles title at The Lakes Collegiate Invitational in Frisco, Texas. Krall played in the top singles position in three round-robin matches, going 3-0 against opponents from Texas Tech, Rice and Oklahoma. He defeated Oklahoma’s Justin Schlageter 7-6 (4), 2-6, 6-3 in the third match to clinch the individual title. Krall also went 3-0 in doubles play alongside Caleb Chakravarthi.
