04.27.26

IRVING, Texas – Tulsa will represent the American Conference in the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championship after officially hearing its name called during the NCAA selection show on Monday.

Tulsa (19-12), the first-time tournament champion of the American after winning four matches in four days as host of the 2026 conference championship earlier this month, will travel to face national No. 10 seed Baylor (22-9) on May 1 in Waco. The other scheduled first-round matchup at Baylor’s Hurd Tennis Center will feature Auburn (16-10) versus Santa Clara (20-4).

Tulsa qualified for its fourth NCAA tournament as a member of the American and secured its 20th national tournament bid overall, previously reaching the second round of the 2015 event after defeating NC State 4-3 in the first round in Fort Worth. Teams representing the American have advanced at least one round in NCAA Championship play seven times in men’s tennis, including reaching the round of 16 in both 2015 and 2016.

First- and second-round competition in the 2026 NCAA Championship is scheduled for May 1-2 and features four teams playing in a single-elimination format. The winner of each site advances to super-regional competition May 8 or 9. Each super-regional site will feature two teams playing a single-elimination format. The super-regional winners advance to the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia, where the final eight teams will compete for the national championship from May 14-17.
