UCF 3, East Carolina 0 (25-20, 25-11, 25-22)
UCF extended its active winning streak to nine straight matches with another weekend sweep, dispatching of East Carolina by a 25-20, 25-11, 25-22 final score on Sunday.
McKenna Melville tallied 18 kills, two aces and 11 digs for UCF in the win, with Anne-Marie Watson hitting an impressive .619 with 15 kills from the Knights front line. Amber Olson narrowly missed a double-double in the victory with 45 assists and nine digs.
Bri Wood hit .333 with 13 kills and six digs for ECU. Natalie Tyson turned in 10 kills, two service aces and four digs for the Pirates.
Cincinnati 3, South Florida 1 (17-25, 25-14, 25-12, 25-20)
Cincinnati kept pace in the postseason race with a four-set home victory against South Florida, responding from an early deficit to earn a 17-25, 25-14, 25-12, 25-20 win.
Madison Water guided a balanced Cincinnati attack with 11 kills on .611 hitting, three total blocks and five digs. Maria Mallon finished the day with 10 kills, two aces, five block assists and a match-high 25 digs.
Three players, All Barnhart, Ragan Kinard and Tizi Puljiz, each paced USF with seven kills each. Alexis Williams led the Bulls with three aces and 12 digs in the setback.
Houston 3, Tulsa 0 (25-17, 28-26, 25-22)
Houston remained hot on the heels of UCF with a fourth consecutive conference win, sweeping Tulsa 25-17, 28-26, 25-22.
Abbie Jackson posted 15 kills, four aces, three blocks and eight digs to fill the stat sheet in the Houston triumph. Isabel Theut hit an even .600 with seven kills and six digs and Annie Cooke recorded 31 assists, six kills and five digs for the Cougars.
Kayley Cassaday’s 13 kills powered the offense for Tulsa. Roosa Rautio logged 32 assists and five digs for the Golden Hurricane.
SMU 3, Temple 1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-20)
SMU won the final three sets on the road at Temple to claim a 23-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-20 victory in four.
Hannah Jacobs finished with 18 kills, three block assists and three digs for the SMU attack. Rachel Woulfe hit .406 with 15 kills, four block assists and five digs, and Alex Glover chipped in nine kills and four block assists.
Gem Grimshaw and Miray Bolukbasi each shared the Temple lead with 16 kills. Grimshaw added nine digs to the Owl stat line.
Wichita State 3, Tulane 0 (25-22, 25-23, 26-24)
Wichita State won a competitive three-set battle at home against Tulane, taking a 25-22, 25-23, 26-24 decision.
Brylee Kelly drilled 11 kills and added two aces, three block assists and two digs for Wichita State. Sophia Rohling hit .350 with nine kills and a pair of digs and Morgan Stout recorded eight kills, three block assists and three digs for the Shockers.
Michelle Urquhart and Yvette Burcescu both closed the match with nine kills to lead Tulane. Sophia Ervanian chipped in 14 digs for the Green Wave.
