IRVING, Texas -- South Florida women's soccer standout Sydny Nasello earned United Soccer Coaches Second-Team All-America honors.
Nasello, who was a first-team All-American in 2020, scored eleven goals, including four game-winners, in USF's 2021 campaign and added five assists for 27 points. She started all of USF's 19 matches, and finished second on the team among field players with 1,694 minutes played.
The Land O' Lakes, Fla., native also wrapped up her 2021 season with multiple to-50 finishes in NCAA statistical categories, including game-winning goals (44
th), goals per game (49
th; 0.58), shot accuracy (30
th; 0.610), shots per game (20
th; 4.05), shots on goal per game (3
rd; 2.47) and total goals (47
th). Additionally, she lead the conference in shot accuracy, shots per game, shots on goal per game, total goals and total points.
Her efforts helped lead the Bulls to its fifth consecutive NCAA tournament and eighth since 2010. She also paced USF's offense as it captured the 2021 American Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship, marking its fifth consecutive season with a conference title.
Nasello has declared for the 2022 NWSL Draft, which will be held in Los Angeles on Dec. 18, 2021 at 2 p.m. The draft is scheduled to be televised on CBS Sports Network.
With her declaration for the draft, Nasello ends her collegiate career with multiple finishes in the program's all-time lists. She ranks tied for first in assists (28), third in assists per game (0.394), fourth in points per game (1.070), fourth in shots (214), fourth in shots per game (3.014), fifth in points (76), seventh in goals (24) and seventh in goals per game (0.338).
